Tailgate Season is Here!
Now that football season is in full swing, it’s time to bring on the tailgating! Whether you’re a tailgating veteran or a first-timer, here is the ultimate tailgating list and tips to get your prepared for a fun-filled day of partying and football.
One for food and one for drinks. It’s easier to use coolers with wheels and a handle for easy access and travel. Don’t forget to prepare your coolers beforehand with ice or plan to chill your beverages the night before.
What’s tailgating without some delicious BBQ? If you can, try using a small grill for easy clean up and maneuvering. Be sure to bring along the lighter and charcoal to get it started. And just in case things get a little heated, bring along a small fire extinguisher, too.
3. Kitchenware and utensils
Only the tailgating masters know that bringing along the proper kitchenware is what sets them up for success. Don’t forget these items!
-Grilling utensils (Spatula, tongs, grill brush, etc.)
-Cutting board and knives
-Plates, cups, and eating utensils
-Paper towel and napkins
4.Folding chairs, tables, and tents
Don’t expect to be standing the entire tailgate. Bring along some foldable chairs for you and your friend to relax in. And a tent or canopy for some shade. It’s also a good idea to take some foldable tables with you for eating and drinking. For easy clean up, set up tablecloths. They might even sell them with your favorite team’s logo on it!
5. Food and drinks
It’s always a good idea to pre-cut your meats and vegetables before heading to the tailgate. This also includes marinating the night before as well. It makes grilling a lot quicker and less messy. Be sure to pack the condiments and snacks like chips and fruit platters. Don’t forget the bottle opener!
6. Games and entertainment
Tailgating is all about having fun with your fellow fans, family and friends! Along with grilling up some tasty food, bring along some enjoyable games! Games like cornhole, ring toss, and beer pong are popular portable games that gets everyone involved. It’s always a good idea to bring a pre-charged speaker to play some cool tunes, too.
7. Portable lights
If the game falls in the nighttime, be prepared with some portable lights along with some batteries just in case. It also never hurts to bring along some umbrellas, raincoats, and blankets for the rain or cold weather.
8. Sanitation and care
Always be prepared for accidents by bringing along an equipped first aid kit with hand sanitizer and wet wipes as well. You should also pack some sunscreen to protect yourself from getting sunburnt!
